Navigating Developmental Delay and Neurodivergence

Every child’s development unfolds in their own unique way. Some children may take a little longer to meet milestones, while others may process and experience the world differently due to neurodivergent traits such as autism, ADHD, or developmental delays. At Play & Grow Therapy, we believe that these differences are not deficits — they’re part of each child’s individuality, strengths, and way of connecting with the world.

Our approach is grounded in acceptance, understanding, and respect for each child’s pace of growth. Through Play Therapy, Early Skills Support, and our Foundations for Learning (School Readiness) sessions, we offer gentle, play-based interventions that focus on building skills, confidence, and connection — not fixing the child, but supporting them to thrive in their own way.

Play Therapy provides a safe, relationship-based space where children can express themselves freely, explore challenges, and experience emotional regulation through play. This child-led approach honours each child’s communication style and sensory needs, allowing them to develop self-awareness, resilience, and trust in a supportive environment.

Early Skills Support offers targeted, practical strategies to build developmental foundations such as communication, play, social interaction, and daily living skills. Sessions are tailored to your child’s strengths and interests, and families are supported with tools and strategies that encourage progress at home and in early learning settings.

Foundations for Learning (School Readiness) helps children prepare for transitions into structured environments, with a focus on attention, regulation, routines, and participation. These sessions promote confidence, predictability, and positive experiences of learning — helping children feel capable and supported in the classroom.

Together, these approaches empower children and families to navigate developmental differences with confidence and compassion. We focus on what each child can do, nurturing their growth through play, connection, and genuine understanding.
